Good Morning Parents!

This week will be a nice, relaxing week for most students AND myself!   We are returning to Reading Response for homework.

• The Great Poetry Race:

Parents, your child is EXPECTED to participate in The Great Poetry Race on the weekend.  The weekly focus poem must be read at least 3 TIMES.  I have sent home tracking form to use.  When this form is full, continue any lined sheet of lined paper and write the title of the poem, and signature of the adult who listened to it.  I am very disappointed to see that many students are not reading their poem at home. As a consequence, students will lose their first recess and spend it copying out the poem (yes, very drab and wasteful of time - this is meant to be a deterrent). This week, I had a whopping 8 students affected!

• ASSESSMENTS:

You will be getting some assessments send home this week for your to review, sign and return (Science, Math, Music).  Please discuss the learning with your child and BUS (Bump Up Strategies) on how to make goals for improvements. 

• MEDIA LITERACY:

Today I am sending home a survey for students to complete based on the different forms of media you use on a regular basis each day.  Please complete over a 3 day period and return by Thursday,
