Be on the look out for our second Math test to look over, sign and return.  Students did VERY well on this assessment!  The day after each test, I go over all of the answers with the class, (this will be done on Monday) discussing and solving together.  All questions are answered and bump up strategies are given to improve upon achievement.  When you go over the test with your child, ask them how they can correct, bump up or add to their responses that lost marks.  They should be able to explain what was missing or how to correct it.

Our next assessment will be in Science.  I am aiming for the end of next week, but please stay tuned until I post it formally.  We have been learning about the four food groups, portion sizes, nutrients, vitamins, fats, preservatives, and processed and unprocessed foods. Students are asked to make sure they have at least one unprocessed food in their lunch a day! It's harder to do than you think!  Very eye opening, indeed!

Spelling - students ARE expected to form their letters correctly. So, if a student spells a word correctly, but prints the letter incorrectly, they are expected to write out that word 10 x but it will be marked correct in spelling.  I am not beginning cursive writing until the students show me they are printing correctly.  Challenging letters tend to be lower case f, m, n, r, p, g, q, y, j, l.  Please be on the look out for this in your child's THRoW.  Thank you!

Some students have already made it to the 200-300 word list!! Way to go!  Spell away!
